How to Make a GIF from a Video

Upload a video, mark the moment, and export. The basic flow takes under a minute. If you want to shape the look, there are 15 presets and four effects that stay active in the exported GIF.

Steps

    Load your video

    Drag an MP4, WebM, or MOV file into the editor, or use the file picker. Files up to 100 MB are supported. Your video stays on your device.

    Mark the segment

    Use the timeline to set a start and end point. This becomes your GIF. You can add up to 9 segments and export them all at once as a ZIP.

  3. 03

    Choose a size and frame rate

    The default is 480 px at 12 fps. That works for most uses. Use 320 px for smaller files. Use 720 px when you need more detail.

    Pick a look (optional)

    15 presets change the colors and mood of every frame. "Warm Cinema" and "Teal Orange" for a cinematic tone. "Cyan Blood" and "Manga Pop" for something more stylized and high-contrast. "Matte Fade" and "Washed Scan" for a faded, analog feel. "Hard Flash" and "Dirty GIF" for something raw.

    Add effects (optional)

    Four effects that stay active in the exported GIF, not just in the preview: Light Leak: a soft wash of warm or colored light that drifts slowly across frames. Five styles, including one that creates a prism-like color spread. VHS: a worn tape look. Light noise, horizontal lines, and a greenish tint that vary across frames. Film Dust: small particles and scratches that move across frames, like a real film strip. Chromatic Aberration: the edges show a slight color separation, as in a photo taken through an old lens.

    Preview and export

    Check the preview and click Generate.

Multiple GIFs from one video

Add up to 9 segments on the timeline. Each one becomes a separate GIF. Export them all at once and download a ZIP. Useful when there's more than one moment in the video worth keeping, or when you want the same clip in different crops.

Boomerang

Switch Loop Mode to Boomerang before exporting. Good for short, expressive motion: a jump, a turn, a reaction. The GIF plays forward and back on its own, without needing a perfect loop.
